Tailormade Tour to the Golden Triangle & Rishikesh

India has always been a bucket list destination for us, but we found it difficult to navigate the country and all the sights we wanted to see in a coherent plan, but thankfully, Sian’s in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience of the country proved to be invaluable. She took the time to get to know us, our interests, and concerns, to create a truly bespoke adventure where we felt in safe hands from beginning to end.

As a gay couple travelling to India, we were worried about how hotels, drivers, and guides would react to us as we explored the country, but I can safely say that we were welcomed with open arms by the country and its people, and never before have I been able to say that with such confidence.

While travelling, we felt completely at ease knowing that Sian and her team were following us on our journey and making sure our trip ran smoothly – which in India is a blessing! We can’t thank Sian enough for this amazing experience and look forward to future expeditions to this incredible country.

Group Tour to Delhi & Rajasthan

Having recently returned from the textile tour of Rajasthan, I can't recommend Sian highly enough, in fact , I have subsequently booked a family holiday for later in the year through her. The attention to detail and understanding of the way the country works is what sets her apart from the previous company that I used. The hotels selected, were handpicked and charming.

The organised experiences, which are what she excels at, were fully immersive and inspiring, but we also managed to join in a wedding party and celebrate Holi in a local Temple just by being in the right place at the right time. It was the most unforgettable holiday for all the right reasons.

Group Tour to Mumbai & Gujarat

Having just returned from the second of my journeys with South Asia Uncovered I am confirmed in my view that the curated tours they offer to different areas of India are completely unique and exceptional. On this occasion we visited Mumbai and Gujarat, we met extraordinary crafts people, creating exquisite woven and painted pieces and more.

A tour that took us into communities that others do not have access to visit. It was an awe-inspiring, joyous, life enhancing trip, literally never to be forgotten. And for it to work so perfectly takes planning, expertise, calm, flexibility and humour - Sian, Tuhina, along with the first rate guides, drivers and the wider team, I now know, will always exceed expectations and that each tour undertaken brings India and its people into our hearts and leaves an insatiable desire to return.

Group Tour to Mumbai & Gujarat

South Asia Uncovered headed by Sian Warren is a friendly and relaxed adventure, with that reassuring experience and attention to detail that us world travellers love. Sian's ability and talent to pitch these small group tours in India (she also does bespoke tours) to visit craft and textile makers, pays tribute to her on-the-ground contacts and hard work behind the scenes, visits and days are seemless and enjoyable.

Sian also is a massive fan of all things craft and textiles, What a brilliant find South Asia Uncovered has been, already booked my next group tour to South India in October 2024

Group Tour to Tamil Nadu & Keral

I have just returned from my third group trip with Sian and Tuhina of South Asia Uncovered, this time travelling to Tamil Nadu and Kerala.Once again it was a well curated tour, visiting key sites, led by local guides, extremely knowledgeable and entertaining providing us with interesting facts not found in guidebooks. Interspersed with tourist sites were visits to artisans (weavers and artists) which gave us unique behind the scenes experiences; it was very special speaking directly with the makers.

Hotels ranged from luxurious with personal pools to a tranquil homestay in the Munnar hills, where the lady of the house gave a cookery lesson  and we had guided  walks in the hills followed by swims in pools fed by natural waterfalls. Meals throughout the 12 days were excellent and showcased the best and variety of South Indian cuisine; even the coffee stops on the  journey between cities were at sites of interest.

The group size is small and Sian and Tuhina do a tremendous amount of background research to ensure a successful visit. I would highly recommend these group tours to anyone who has not visited India previously or for solo travellers."
